Build backend systems across fintech, SaaS, and internal tooling — with real ownership from architecture to deployment.
We're looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join our engineering team in Oslo on a hybrid basis. You'll work across a broad portfolio of backend systems — spanning fintech platforms, SaaS products, and internal tooling — in a Linux environment. This is a hands-on role with genuine scope: you'll be involved from early architecture decisions through to production delivery and monitoring.
Remote candidates are also welcome to apply.
This role offers meaningful technical breadth: you won't be siloed in a single product or codebase. You'll have real influence over how systems are built and the opportunity to work across domains that matter — financial infrastructure, scalable SaaS, and the internal tooling that keeps engineering teams productive. The team works in a hybrid setup from Oslo, with flexibility built in. Compensation is $2,000,000 USD annually.
Design, build, and maintain backend systems across multiple product domains, adapting quickly as priorities shift between codebases and contexts.
Contribute to the full backend lifecycle — from scoping and system design to implementation, deployment, and ongoing reliability.
Work on fintech infrastructure, SaaS platform components, and internal tooling, often in parallel or in sequence.
Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to make sound architectural decisions and deliver production-quality software.
You have solid professional experience building and maintaining backend systems in Linux environments, and you're comfortable working at production scale in at least one major backend language — Go, Python, Java, or equivalent.
You've shipped work across fintech, SaaS, or internal tooling, and ideally more than one of these domains.
Critically, you can move between different codebases and product contexts without losing momentum — context-switching is part of how you work, not a disruption to it.
Nice to have: Experience designing and maintaining REST or gRPC APIs consumed by multiple services or clients would be a strong plus.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation with Docker or Kubernetes, and modern DevOps practices in a Linux-based stack is also valued.
We particularly appreciate engineers who take end-to-end ownership — from scoping through deployment and monitoring — rather than handing off at the edges.
